WIM - Happy New Year!

It has been a wonderful and eventful month.  And even though we've missed our loved ones greatly,
we've been blessed by the Lord in abundance!  Here are a few highlights...

Our Christmas was warmed with dinner in a dear member's home.

The peace of the evening was captured beautifully
in this picture of the grandmother rocking her grandchild to sleep.

All the missionaries in Trinidad were invited to the mission home to spend a few hours Christmas Day
with our Mission President and his family.
In addition to a few members in our ward,
I'm teaching piano to the daughters in white and choral, and the youngest son.
And bonus:  I'm teaching guitar to the daughter in purple, too!

After a sumptuous meal, we had a talent show...
complete with skits and TRICKS!
You've got to click on this pic to fully appreciate
how amazingly our district supports and strengthens each other!

Elder Lindorf really got into the "levity!"  :D

For fun, we took a little "preparation-day" day trip to
beautiful Maracas Bay (on the northern coast of Trinidad).
The bake-n-shark sandwiches were a hit!
It happened to be a very stormy day.

Surprise!  Surprise!
The New Year brought some big changes for us...
Our mission assignment has been changed!
We are now "S&I Missionaries" (Seminaries & Institutes, formerly CES).
I think we'll be thrilled once the transition wears off.  :)
Have you ever seen such a great, at-home set up for early-morning-seminary?

We went on a whirlwind training tour, visiting new areas,
new branches, and great seminaries!

That black and white sign is always such a WELCOME SIGHT!

As we hiked through lush foliage in Tobago to one of our home-study seminaries,
we could hear the shrieking din of monkeys in the trees!

These two will be going to the temple in the Dominican Republic in April --
...the Seminary teacher/mother to receive her own Endowment,
and the student/daughter to do baptisms for the dead.

Our new stewardship covers all 12 countries/islands in our mission,
which includes the English, Dutch and French languages.
(It is a good thing Elder Lindorf speaks French!)
We'll be setting up an office in our home in Couva as our base of operations.
Even though we'll be traveling quite a bit,
we hope to continue with some of our work in our home ward.

It has been thrilling to begin to catch the vision of S&I in this corner of the world.  The students are bright, willing, and full of the spirit of conversion!  As attested to by this Seminary chart we found in one of the classes we visited, the missionaries of tomorrow are being prepared TODAY!

We send our fondest love to each of you!
Always, Sister Lindorf

Speaking of "Gathering the Flock," how did this guy get in here!?!
